The Small Grants of MFF Programme range between US$10,000 and US$25,000. During the session proponents of the small grant shared their proposals and were provided expert advice to strengthen their proposals and aligned them with the MFF Programme objectives. The approved projects will be implemented within a span of one year. So far the MFF Programme has provided to 19 Grants to NGOs/CBOs and Academia which amounts to Pakistan Rupees 1.8 Crore.
Implementation of MFF Programme in Pakistan is overseen by the National Coordinating Body Members which is headed by the representative of the Climate Change Division, Islamabad. The National Coordination Body (NCB) is formed of representatives of the federal government, provincial governments of Sindh and Balochsitan, government departments, donors and NGOs.
During the welcome remarks Mr. Mahmood Akhtar Cheema, Country Representative, IUCN Pakistan thanked the participants for their participation and interest and also commended the contribution of the donors and Mangroves for the Future Programme for their investment in developing the skills of the communities and the stakeholders in the coastal areas. He further said that the knowledge is necessary to run the projects effectively sustainably.
Mr. Ghulam Qadir Shah, Manager MFF Proramme also hoped that the participants have learned new skills and must have gained knowledge to deal with management of their projects.
